كم عمري بالسنوات الهجرية؟ فهم الفرق

قراءة سريعة · آخر تحديث مايو 2026 · أداة ذات صلة: حاسبة العمر الهجري

If you were born in 1990 CE, you're about 36 years old in Gregorian years as of 2026. But in Hijri years, you're closer to 37. By the time you're 66 in Gregorian years, you'll be about 68 in Hijri. The difference grows slowly but steadily over a lifetime.

why the ages diverge

A Hijri year is approximately 354.37 days. A Gregorian year is approximately 365.25 days. That's a difference of about 10.88 days per year. Over your lifetime, those extra days accumulate. For every 33 Gregorian years you live, about 34 Hijri years pass.

The formula to estimate your Hijri age: multiply your Gregorian age by 365.25, then divide by 354.37. A 30-year-old: (30 × 365.25) ÷ 354.37 ≈ 30.9 Hijri years. A 60-year-old: about 61.9 Hijri years.

when does this actually matter?

Religious milestones: Islamic maturity (bulugh), after which religious obligations like fasting and prayer become mandatory, is traditionally reckoned in lunar years. A child who has reached puberty — or failing other signs, completed 15 lunar years — is considered an adult for religious purposes. 15 lunar years is about 14 years and 7 months in Gregorian terms.

Legal documents in the Gulf: Some Saudi and Gulf legal documents use Hijri dates for birth records, especially older ones. If your ID says you were born in 1410 AH, and a foreign institution asks for your birth year in Gregorian, you need to convert accurately.

Zakat anniversary: Your zakat year (hawl) runs for 12 lunar months, not 12 calendar months. If you set your zakat date as 1 Ramadan, that's approximately 354 days later — about 11 days before the same Gregorian date next year.

Curiosity: Most people who look up their Hijri age are simply curious. There's something satisfying about seeing your birthday in a different calendar system — connecting to a 1,400-year-old tradition that marks time differently from the one you use for work and daily life.

your hijri birthday

Your Hijri birthday is the Hijri date that corresponds to your Gregorian birthdate. Unlike your Gregorian birthday, it shifts forward by about 11 Gregorian days each year, so it'll fall in different seasons throughout your life. If you were born on 15 Sha'ban, you might celebrate it in January one year and November a few years later.
